Performance

Adams Natural Resources Fund, Inc. (NYSE:PEO) today announced the Fund’s results for the nine months ended September 30th. The total return on Adams Natural Resources’ net asset value, with dividends and capital gains reinvested, was -3.3%. Comparable figures for the Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Index and the Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index were -7.6% and 16.9%, respectively. The total return on the market price of the Fund’s shares for the period was -1.0%.

For the twelve months ended September 30th, the total return on Adams Natural Resources’ net asset value, with dividends and capital gains reinvested, was 3.7%. Comparable figures for the Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Index and the Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index were -1.0% and 23.8%, respectively. The total return on the market price of the Fund’s shares for the period was 4.2%.

“The Fund was down 3.3% for the first nine months of 2017, which compares to a 7.6% decline in the Dow Jones U.S. Oil and Gas Index. The outperformance was mainly a result of the Fund’s diversification and exposure to the Materials sector,” said Mark Stoeckle, CEO of Adams Funds.
